January 24 Claude King to be Inducted into the Chamber’s Walk of Stars
	Shreveport, LA— Louisiana Hayride Legend, songwriter and musician Claude King will be inducted into the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce Walk of Stars on Sunday, February 11th in conjunction with the Louisiana Tribute Jamboree that opens at 2 p.m. at the Municipal Auditorium on Elvis Presley Ave.  King, a lifelong resident of northwest Louisiana, is best known for his recording of the song “Wolverton Mountain” written by Walk of Stars Honoree Merle Kilgore.  “Wolverton Mountain” topped the music charts in 1962 and stayed there for 9 weeks.  King was managed by Tillman Franks, past recipient of the Walk of Stars, during that time period and became very much in demand as a performer, which led him to venues including the Grand Ole Opry and Dick Clark’s American Bandstand.  more info (.pdf format)....

December Shreveport-Bossier Film Office/Commission invites community to “The Year Without A Santa Claus” Showcase
